The Basics:

Staying healthy includes a balanced diet, staying clean, getting plenty of exercise as well as keeping your heart strong and free of drugs. People who practice good nutrition, hygiene and exercise patterns develop a lifetime of habits that will keep them healthy for many years. Especially when they are older! Variety means that you must include many different foods because no single food can supply all of the nutrients that your growing body needs on a daily basis. This can help to expand your food choices. It is best to eat foods of all colors. The more colors and textures in your daily meals, the better range of nutrients you'll get. Balance means that you must eat the right amounts of foods. This way you will get all the calories and nutrients you need for proper growth and development. Moderation means that you are careful not to eat too much of any one type of food.

1. Eat a healthy diet. Our brains need the right food to perform at their peak. Don’t go to work/school on an empty stomach.

2. Cut down on oils and fats: A balanced diet which consists of all basic nutrients and minerals required by the body is absolutely essential, but for a perfect, acne free skin, cut down on fried and oily foods entirely. This will prevent oily skin and acne.

3. Include plenty of greens in your diet: Fruits and Vegetables are full of important minerals and vitamins that can do you a world of good.

4. Eat regular meals. Skipping meals can lead to out-of-control hunger, often resulting in overeating. When you're very hungry, it's also tempting to forget about good nutrition. Snacking between meals can help curb hunger, but don't eat so much that your snack becomes an entire meal

5. Exercise daily. There is no need to do vigorous or strenuous exercises. This can lead to injury. Start slowly and then speed up whatever exercise you opt for. Do simple exercises. Even walking regularly can make a lot of difference. Walking, swimming, cycling, running are some of the easy exercises that can be undertaken by anyone.

6. Drink at least eight glasses of water daily. This keeps body well-hydrated and helps in easy digestion of food.

7. Get good sleep. Sleep is important to let your body recoup its energy. A person should get a good sleep of at least six (aim for 8 to 9) hours at night. If you feel like sleeping in the afternoon, do not suppress it. Try to relax and take rest whenever possible. Resting helps your body de-stress and prepares it for the hard work ahead.

8. Protect your skin: Always wear sun block when out in the sun in order to prevent sun burns and uneven tans. Also, avoid direct exposure to dust, dirt and pollution.
